Jamie & Andre Finally have their Day!
Updated: Sep 10, 2020
This sweet couple were to be my very first couple to get married in 2020, but instead they were my very first couple who had to officially make the decision to postpone. I remember begrudgingly making the call to Jamie to discuss everything that was going on and I swear I could actually hear Jamie's heart break through the phone. I'm sure she knew the call was coming, but it was utterly excruciating to hear the pain in her voice and is something I'll never forget. I think in the beginning, all of us had hopes that things would return to normal by late summer/early fall and that by postponing until then would mean that this pandemic would be a distant memory. Sadly, that was not the case and this time around their new date provided even more unique challenges like; a mask mandate, civil unrest in Kenosha, many downtown businesses being boarded up or destroyed, military presence and a 7PM curfew! Goodness, as if planning a wedding during a pandemic wasn't stressful enough!
Well, I'm delighted to report that in spite of being thrown every curve ball possible this couple were indeed married in 2020!! With that being said, can we just take a moment to recognize this couples extreme amount of perseverance and resilience! Even though their day may have looked very different than originally planned, the day itself lacked nothing! The love and joy shared was abundant and the energy exuberant! I think at the end of the day, they were just so overjoyed to finally be married! Congrats you two! All of this just goes to prove that you as a couple have what it takes to overcome any challenge thrown your way! However, let's hope it's nothing but smooth sailing from here on out!
Jamie was absolutely breathtaking! This woman has a heart of gold and knows how important it is to slow down and enjoy a moment. I don't think I've ever witnessed a Bride or couple more in tune with taking moments throughout the day to take it all in and be present.
Gah I just can't get over how gorgeous Jamie is!
We originally had a "Daddy 1st look" planned, but given that Jamie is an only child (like myself), I knew this was a big day for both of her parents, so we opted for a "Parent's 1st look" instead. It was absolute perfection and is a memory that they are sure to cherish forever.
Andre is a complete gentleman and man of honor through and through. These two are just so well suited to each other that you can't help but believe in soulmates.
Probably one of my favorite wedding day moments is when the Groom sees his Bride for the first time. The look on Andre's face says it all!
Ahhhh finally married!!
Oh my goodness, I don't know what it is, but I just adore Grandmas. This one was an absolute hoot!
Sooo many cute moments between the couple's parents!
Wow these guys from Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos really brought such fun energy to the night and some of the requests made us crack up! For instance, when you hear one of these guys belt out some Miley Cyrus you can't help but have the biggest grin on your face! I highly recommend these guys!
A huge shout out to the dedicated staff of Cira on Seventh for their stellar service and delicious cuisine! In the photo above, Kelsey the Venue Director, assists the Bride putting in her veil. I caught her pitching in whenever and wherever she was needed. This is a woman who truly loves her job and it shows!
This made me giggle, the Groom's brother's mask had gotten a bit off course and his adorable girlfriend provided as much assistance as she could : )
Well, that's a wrap folks, thanks for sharing in the Jamie and Andre's special day! Congratulations to the newlyweds, may their life together be so much easier than planning a wedding in 2020!
