A Date too Perfect to Postpone - Nicole & David - June 20th 2020
Updated: Jul 9
Like many of my 2020 couples Nicole and David were faced with the difficult decision of if they should postpone their day due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. As you can imagine, this is a heart wrenching decision for any couple to make, but for this couple it was especially painful. You see, the day they chose, June 20th was also the wedding day of BOTH of their parents. Yes, you read that correctly, both Nicole and David's parent's share June 20th as their Wedding day and they had hoped to have it their's as well. To them it wasn't just a nice date selected on the calendar, it was THE DATE, their date! Friends, if there is one thing I know for sure, it's that love will always find a way. So as LOVE would have it, they indeed got their day by opting to have an intimate ceremony with just their immediate family. However, don't worry their grand celebration will still happen, it's just postponed until 2021 when everyone can safely celebrate together. Lucky for me, I will be there to photograph both, yay!
Nicole and David's wedding day began at the Bride's parent's home, where the couple would be getting ready. I arrived as the father of the Bride was proudly giving his mustang (the one he had since high school) some final finishing touches to ensure it looked its best for his little girl. It was pretty much the sweetest thing ever! The morning was relaxed and a happy energy was felt and shared by all. Prior to the ceremony the couple exchanged heartfelt gifts and we were able to capture some sweet family portraits. Then the Bride was proudly ushered to the Mustang by her father who dotingly opened the door and whisked her off to the church to get married. I don't think he could have smiled any bigger and been more proud at that very moment.
The ceremony was intimate, lovely and for a lack of a better descriptive word... simply perfect! The couple bubbled over with excitement and the love they shared was felt by all. Following the ceremony Nicole and David celebrated with an intimate lunch with just their family present.
Congratulations Nicole and David! Never was there a sweeter couple with a more perfect day!
Nicole's reaction to David's gift was so sweet!
Wedding days are always an emotional day for parents. It's a happy day for sure, but also hard knowing that your baby is all grown up now. I can totally empathize to what Nicole's Mom must be feeling here.
A boy and his Momma, it gets me every time.
Like father and son, both handsome fellas!
David's sister was the "Best Lady", so she did the honors of pinning on his boutonniere. Great job by the way! She didn't even stab him like I've been known to do. Pinning on boutonnieres is not a strength of mine.
I love this moment so much! The Bride's veil keep blowing over Grandma's face, but she just embraced it and I love her for it! I know exactly who I want to be when I grow up now, she's the best!
Okay, I can't get enough of this Daddy daughter duo, they are so cute!
See you at the church!
One of the most tender moments ever, pretty sure I had tears in my eyes at this point.
Cheers to June 20th 2020 and congrats Mr. & Mrs. Rice!
Here they are! Each couple celebrating their June 20th wedding date all together, yay!!
